My morning started just as the sun peeks over the horizon. It was another start to my on and off exercise routine. Usually I'm able to wake up long before the sun comes up, but lately it's been a challenge.
Unlike my usual runs, I decided to go into a part of the neighborhood that I never frequent. I knew of this area and have been down here once before. And I'm glad that I decided to change my route from my routine.
As the sun crawled up the sky, the road ahead of me proved a bit more trecherous than I would've liked. As many joggers know, pot-holes are bane of all runners.
Rather than double backing or going further into that part of the neighborhood, I decided to go towards the main road. At about 7am, this road can get a bit dangerous as people are leaving for work in their cars.
A school bus was headed in my direction so I had to make a left turn. The west side of this street, in my opinion, was much nicer looking than the east side, only because it had more oak trees.
Like many of my morning runs, it's always interrupted by a barking dog. And as it so happens, most of them are the small, yippy toy dogs. They're always the most aggressive.
Back in my end of the neighborhood, things still looked a bit sleepy. Sure I run pass some people on their morning exercise, but otherwise, it's rather quiet.
The sun finally rises above my horizon. I couldn't help but try to photograph the sun as it came up.
A few blocks over I started to make my way home. The running part of the jog was over and I started my cool down. Despite living in the area for a number of years, I really didn't understand why the street snaked the way it did.
Then again, I still don't understand why people have palm trees in a subtropical area.
This empty lot has sat dormant for years. The odd thing is most of the other lots have been developed.
Just across the street, this house is also for sale. From the looks of it, the house was redeveloped, but was left vacated for months.
This fire hydrant is like my unofficial way point. I see it anytime I jog around the neighborhood.
And thus concludes my run for the morning.
Charlie's always up early in the morning. Seems like he's enjoying his morning sunbath.
My breakfast of grits, an egg and a side of bacon was a nice perk of waking up. It also made for a good protein boost after exercise.
I'm glad that I had my morning coffee...
Because on my way home from an errand, I noticed my car was shaking pretty badly.
As it turned out I had a flat tire. Jacking my car was a real pain. And the tire iron in the trunk was too big for the lug nuts!
And here's the culprit of my suffering.

Luckily I learned how to patch a tire. This saved me the hassle of going to a tire shop.
